We went to a great dinner tonight at Sullivan University’s Winston’s restaurant. Great service, great food, great dessert, and great coffee. I enjoyed the experience a lot!

Tonight we went on a date to the Somewhere in Thyme Tea Garden. They serve dinner only on Saturday nights and it is family style. The setting is really neat (albeit very girly) in an old historic home. The food was good ole southern cooking. They even had great sweetened iced tea and cheddar biscuits. I recommend the joint and look forward to going back!

We have had a wonderful Christmas! Last night we had a great dinner Court prepared (brie and crackers, peppered beef tenderloin, honey mustard greenbeans, and potato, leak and fennel au gratin), then we went to church, and followed it up with cake by the fire with some Christmas story reading. We got up early this morning (well, not early like when we were young) and opened presents by the fire and then had a great breakfast (cheese and sausage grits cassarole and smoked pork chops). Here are some pics…although beware of bed head!

Mmm…last night we had a Christmas Eve-eve dinner. Court fixed a wonderful mushroom soup (with like three or four kinds) and I made us a NeeNaw chocolate covered layered cake. Mmm…not quite as good as hers, but not bad if I do say so myself!

I cooked Court a belated birthday dinner tonight…and it was tastey if I do say so myself. Lamb loin chops marrinated in a soy/ginger/garlic concoction, Wild Mushroom “Risotto” (okay, I goofed, I got orzo [pasta] instead of risotto[rice], so it was more like Wild Mushroom Uncle Ben’s), and roasted squash (marinated in garlic infused olive oil and fresh thyme). For an appetiser we had greek focasia (it had feta, olives, and sundried tomatoes on it) and for desert, chocolate chunk cheese cake. Mmmm….
