Charlotte is 10 months old, and August passed quickly as we settled back in from vacations, worked on getting our house back in order after the water damage, and started into the fall routine. Our big event this month with Charlotte was discovering what seems to be an allergy to eggs. After sampling scrambled eggs for the first time, she was covered in hives for the rest of the day. Thankfully, nothing more serious happened, but we’re staying away from eggs for awhile. In happier news, she learned to clap and thinks it’s the greatest thing ever! We also enjoyed a visit from Poppy, Grandmommy, and Jacob this month. It’s always fun to see how much the girls enjoy extended family - and vice versa!

Charlotte is 8 months old, and it has been a full month! In Charlotte’s world, she can push herself up to sitting now, which makes her very happy… her first two teeth came in together… she discovered Cheerios (and loves them)… she still loves her thumb, preferably with whoever’s hair is within reach.  Her favorite toys are anything that belongs to Elise and anything that’s not really a toy. We enjoyed visits from Grandma & Grandpa Creason and Lynn & Jennifer. Elise especially loved having company, though we all enjoyed their visits. Elise also started parent/tot swim lessons, but the water is a little chilly for her tastes. Here are some shots of the start of our summer fun…

Charlotte is seven months old! Where has the time gone? We had a great visit with Papa and Emma at the beginning of the month. It’s so much fun to watch your own kids enjoy their grandparents. The big event in Elise’s life this month has been potty training. Mommy had enough of pull-ups, so we made the big switch to underwear. Elise caught on quickly and after only a week has been accident-free (excluding sleeping). She very much wants to do it all herself and only when she wants to, and once I quit asking her to “try” and just let her go when she felt she needed to, we started getting along great! Charlotte started sitting up independently this month and loves being part of the action. She likes to babble (her favorite ah-da-da). She’s a bit of a mommy’s girl, especially when she’s tired. She’s enjoying solid food more and getting more into her tummy instead of on her bib. She is sweet and snuggly, fun and spunky!

Charlotte is six months old! She weathered another cold this month but nothing like her sickness last month. She’s become very skilled at rolling from back to front, and therefore has had to learn to sleep on her tummy because she hasn’t figure out yet how to get back over. She loves the sound of her own voice and loves her big sister. Around the middle of the month she started eating cereal… very messy. We took a family trip to the zoo this month and are enjoying more time outside as the weather warms up. Cassie had surgery to repair her acl at the beginning of the month but is slow in getting function back.Â

Charlotte is five months old! This month she got her first illness, and it was a doozy for the first one – not fun! She has discovered her toes, and they’re quite tasty. She likes to sleep mostly on her right side now, sucking her thumb – so cute! And she sits well on my hip now. We had a really busy month with a trip to FL for all of us, a short trip to NC for Josh and way too many trips to the doctor’s office for the three of us girls (9 in a month). By the end of the month, we’re all healthy again.
