Court and I took a weekend vacation in Robbinsville, NC from Thursday through today. We stayed at the Snowbird Mountain Lodge and had a wonderful time. The place is all inclusive, even down to the picnic lunch for two. We did some hiking on Friday in the Snowbird Backcountry along the Snowbird and Sassafrass Creeks. The trip can be summarized as such: 14 stream crossings, 11 miles, 4 wet socks, 3 stings (1 wasp, 2 hornets…within 3 seconds of each other and both got me!), 2 tired hikers, 1 snake, and 1 waterfall. We were supposed to see 3 or 4 waterfalls, but they were always off the trail and we didn’t realize we had passed them until we were WAY passed them. Saturday, we hung out and read and then explored by car, visiting a pottery barn, a cheese barn, and a woodcraft barn. Here are some pics of our wonderful trip.
